Far field radiated by short-circuited microstrip antenna acting at a quarter-wavelength resonance
Abstract
The far field radiated by a short-circuited rectangular microstrip antenna acting at a quarter-wavelength resonance is determined using electric and polarization current distributions obtained from transmission-line-model analysis. The transmission-line-model is employed to obtain explicit formulas which express coverage patterns. An experimental verification is presented for the case of a short-circuited microstrip antenna wrapped around a conducting cylinder.
