The ISPM Cosmic-Ray and Solar-Particle Investigation.
Abstract
The Cosmic-Ray and Solar-Particle Investigation (COSPIN) has as its objective the resolution of outstanding problems in solar, interplanetary and cosmic-ray physics for which observations far out of the ecliptic plane are required. These investigations utilise measurements of intensities, spectra, anisotropies, and the chemical and isotopic composition of nuclei from hydrogen through iron in various energy ranges from ≡0.3 - 600 MeV/nucleon, and of electrons between ≡1 and 300 MeV. Above these energies integral flux measurements for both nuclei and electrons are also performed.
