Scattering of a wave beam by a spherical segment
Abstract
A rigorous treatment is used to solve the problem of the scattering of a wave beam by a spherical segment for the case where the wave beam is described, in the beam-waist region, by the Gauss function. The solution is obtained in the form of two systems of algebraic equations of the second kind. The frequency dependences of the radar and total scattering cross-sections are calculated for a hemisphere.
