A theoretical study and an experimental evaluation of the mutual coupling effects in MIC array antennas
Abstract
In the present work the problem of the mutual coupling among microwave integrated circuit (MIC) antennas, generally disposed on the same dielectric sheet, is considered. Each radiator is studied as a resonant lossy cavity. Such a theoretical model allows us to evaluate, through very easy formulas, the radiated power and, in large arrays of MIC radiators, the coupled power among various antennas. Particular attention is paid to the experimental measurements carried out on rectangular MIC antenna arrays working in the X band region.
