General review of wind engineering problems
Abstract
A new discipline called wind engineering has evolved during the last thirty years. Wind engineering is best described as the rational treatment of interactions between wind in the atmosphere boundary layer and human works on the surface of Earth. A rational treatment of wind effects is possible by a synthesis of knowledge from the fluid mechanics, meteorology, mechanics of structures and physiology. A historical view of wind engineering problems is presented.
