Acoustical scanning of optical images
Abstract
The fiber optic laser probe was used as a diagnostic tool to identify loss mechanisms in monolithic storage correlators, generating suggestions for improved device efficiency. Schottky diode correlators were operated in the input correlation mode, demonstrating that it is possible to charge Schottky diodes slowly as p-n diodes with proper voltage amplitudes. Schottky diode correlator theory is modified to account for charge leakage effects and are compared with experimental results. A new signal processing device, the SAW/FET, is introduced which interfaces high speed analog signs with low speed digital ones. Experimental results are presented.
