The Gram-Schmidt sidelobe canceller
Abstract
The performance of a sidelobe canceller based on the Gram-Schmidt orthogonalization procedure is evaluated. A mathematical expression is given for the steady-state cancellation as a function of the ratio of the adaptive circuit bandwidth to the radar receiver bandwidth. The Gram-Schmidt sidelobe canceller is compared, in terms of performance and implementation complexity, with the cancellar based on the Howells-Applebaum technique.
