High-blocked heterojunction and Schottky barrier solar cells
Abstract
The denominator of the formula presently formulated for the current-voltage characteristics of abrupt heterojunctions (that have a blocking barrier for most carriers in the highly doped region) acts as a shape factor for these characteristics. The present description supplants that which is related to the exponential AkT factor, and may be directly interpreted as a function of physical junction parameters. This model is applicable to CdS/Cu2S solar cells, for which experimental evidence of the model's representation of the major features of observed characteristics has been obtained.
