Oscillations of radio waves with oblique incidence on the turbulent ionosphere
Abstract
The fluctuations that occur in the parameters of a radio signal after passing through an inhomogeneous ionosphere are investigated. The general case of the oblique incidence of a spherical wave on an inhomogeneous layer of finite thickness is treated, and an expression is derived for the fluctuations that occur in the level. The results obtained, however, can also be used to determine the correlation functions of the level and phase and their mutual correlation; this determination can be made for various frequencies.
