The gasdynamic momentum of flow in axisymmetric channels
Abstract
A theoretical analysis of realgas flows is used to obtained a general expression for the gasdynamic momentum of a flow issuing from an axisymmetric channel. This expression takes into account turbulent and viscous stresses in the whole flow, which leads to the determination of a new component (the turbulent component) of the gasdynamic momentum. The effect of the boundary layer on the value of the gasdynamic momentum is evaluated. Formulas are obtained for calculating gasdynamicmomentum losses due to gas friction against the wall for flows in channels at large Reynolds numbers.
