Assembly and evaluation of a low orbit Earth sensor unit
Abstract
Tests performed on a low altitude infrared Earth sensor are listed. Performance evaluation in standard low orbit environmental conditions, and mechanical capability of the sensor to withstand launch are covered. The sensor complies with specifications except for random error of the pitch and roll functional outputs; overall accuracy in null attitude conditions; and presence of spurious signals outside the nominal fields of view.
