Theoretical study of the output parameters of optically pumped difference-frequency molecular lasers under saturation conditions
Abstract
An analysis is presented of lasing at difference-band lines in optically pumped molecular lasers under conditions of saturation of a vibrational-rotational transition in the pumping channel. An expression for determining the peak power of the generated emission is obtained. Detailed consideration is given to generation in a CO2 laser with pumping in the fundamental absorption band of the nu3 mode. The maximum of lasing efficiency was achieved when the pump energy was approximately five times as high as the threshold energy.
