Determination of the charging current of a plate in an aerosol flow when a liquid film is separated from its surface
Abstract
When a metal comes into contact with an electrolyte solution having a high permittivity, a double layer of electric charge is formed near the contact surface because of the passage of metal ions into the solution. This paper examines the problem of determining the charging current of a metal plate in an aerosol flow when a liquid film is separated from its surface, this film being formed as a result of the deposition of aerosol particles. The model considered is that of a two-phase boundary layer formed on the surface of the plate. Self-similar solutions are obtained for the dependence of the charging current on the parameters of the problem.
