Computing tides, nutations and tidally-induced variations in the Earth's rotation rate for a rotating, elliptical Earth
Abstract
A physical description is given of tides, nutatons and tidal effects on the rotation rate of Earth. Some relevant normal modes for Earth are described. How to compute the tidal response of a spherically symmetric, non-rotating, elastic and oceanless Earth is described. Models for a rotating, ellipitical Earth are given.
