Performance results from passive-solar residences in Denver, Colorado
Abstract
The thermal performance of six passive solar residences in the Denver, Colorado metropolitan area is discussed. These buildings were monitored. A low cost approach to building thermal monitoring is explained, including the instrumentation hardware, the real time data reduction program, and the performance evaluation methodology. The buildings are described in detail, with monthly and seasonal summaries of weather data and the basic building energy flows. Detailed analysis efforts, using hourly data, are discussed briefly.
