Development of a compact microwave spectrometer for gas analysis, based on the stark effect
Abstract
A compact microwave spectrometer based on the Stark effect and utilizing the frequency range between 18 and 26 GHz was constructed. The concepts upon which the system is based are briefly discussed, and of the main components and their mode of operation are described. In addition, limits for the determination of the gas concentration are estimated, sources of interference are examined, and possible improvements are outlined. In the present form, the instrument is suitable for industrial gas analysis in process and pollution control.
