Suboptimal reception of signals with redundancy
Abstract
The paper describes a unified approach for the investigation of several algorithms of suboptimal reception: the Wagner algorithm, the Chase algorithm, the Kagen-Fink algorithm, and a modified rank algorithm. It is shown that all these algorithms are modifications of the maximum likelihood rule. This rule is used to develop a modified symbol reception algorithm, which is a generalization of the Kagan-Fink algorithm to arbitrary group (linear, binary) codes.
