Dynamic characteristics of a Costas circuit
Abstract
In double shift-keying systems the signal demodulation is often realized by means of a Costas circuit. In the present paper, the quasi-harmonic linearization and averaging methods are used to study the lock-in band of a Costas demodulator and its self-oscillation characteristics in the asynchronous regime. Results obtained with the two methods are found to agree well in asymptotic cases.
