Dynamic programming in problems of the synthesis of multichannel phasing devices
Abstract
A dynamic-programming approach is described which has been applied to the synthesis of an optimal multibeam linear array with 15 elements and a period of 0.5 lambda, and with an optical-excitation scheme. As a result of the synthesis, coordinates of the collector array and feed elements were obtained for which phase errors at the array aperture are minimal for all beams in the sector of scanning angles from -70 deg to +70 deg. It is concluded that the proposed synthesis method can be used to design various types of devices, including scanning antenna systems of optical type and multichannel microwave energy distributors.
