Open cylindrical resonator with longitudinal grooves on the wall
Abstract
Q-factors of oscillations with large azimuthal and small radial indices are estimated for a resonator in the form of a slightly irregular waveguide with an axisymmetric central absorbing rod and longitudinal rods periodically arranged with respect to the azimuthal coordinate. It is shown that the basic-oscillation Q-factor with an azimuthal index that is a multiple of the number of grooves exceeds the Q-factors of other oscillations (close to the natural frequency) that have azimuthal indices which are not multiples of the number of grooves
