Intensity modulation in coupled-mode gas lasers
Abstract
A theoretical study is performed on the suppression and excitation of intensity modulation in coupled-mode He-Ne lasers operating at wavelengths of 0.63, 1.15, and 3.39 microns. It is shown that the band and level of intensity modulation of a coupled-mode gas laser can be effectively controlled, which is pertinent to the suppression of radiation fluctuations, the design of new internal-modulation schemes, and some spectroscopic applications.
