Holographic intensity correlator using a laser cathode-ray tube
Abstract
A possibility of optical processing of images (real scenes, in particular) given as electric signals at a final stage is considered. A laser cathode-ray tube is suggested to be used for their input and a holographic intensity correlator as optical system. Spatial incoherence of the generated radiation allows in this case image processing linear in intensity. The influence of partial spatial coherence on optical calculation accuracy is estimated; experimental results are given.
