Shielding analysis aids material selection
Abstract
Shielding requirements to remove unwanted noise from various systems are discussed. Shielding against noise from incidental radiators, associated circuitry, and interconnect cable is discussed, and required shielding levels for various code levels and for radiators, receivers, and transmitters are presented. Suitable shielding materials are also assessed, including in the discussion such characteristics as elastomer tolerance, air permeability, and electrochemical compatibility. The shielding effects of gasket and barrier materials are compared, and corrosion avoidance is discussed in some detail.
