The transmission of discrete messages in radio channels (2nd revised and enlarged edition)
Abstract
Attention is given to the transmission of discrete messages over radio channels characterized by scattering of the signal with respect to time, frequency, and space, by the presence of additive noise, and by stochastic changes in the parameters of the spatial-temporal channel. Algorithms for optimal and suboptimal signal processing in the presence of various types of a priori reduction are determined, along with the corresponding quality parameters. Determinations are also made of the capacities of various models for the spatial-temporal channel.
