A simulation of multipath distortions in the FM broadcasting range
Abstract
A method of simulating multipath distortions in the FM broadcasting range is presented. Differences between properties of the multipath distortions and the multipath fading in narrow-band radiotelephone communications systems are discussed, and a device is described using block diagrams, which simulates the distortions to test FM broadcasting receivers. It is shown that a delay in the modulation is equivalent to a delay of the high-frequency signal, and to avoid the unwanted interference, a common signal oscillator for all paths of propagation can be used.
