The impedance of an elliptical printed-circuit antenna
Abstract
A simple resonant circuit model is derived for the input impedance of an elliptical printed-circuit antenna, and the predicted impedances are found to be in good agreement with measured data. The model is then used to calculate the impedance and bandwidth as a function of the size, eccentricity, and thickness of the radiator. The impedance band width is maximized by varying both the eccentricity of the ellipse and the position of the feed.
