Measurement of scattering parameters at 35 GHz using amplitude-modulated homodyne detection
Abstract
An improved calibration scheme for a homodyne network analyzer is described. The effects of residual phase modulation in the test channel are discussed and are shown to be eliminated by the calibration scheme. Results are presented for measurements performed at 35 GHz, and measurements of /S11/ are in agreement with a precision tuned reflectometer to better than + or - 0.002.
