Some perculiarities of motion of high-energy charged particles in the geomagnetic field.
Abstract
The motion of charged particles of high energies in the dipole field is examined in the case when the adiabatic approximation does not apply. The study involves analysis of proton trajectories which are calculated numerically. Results of the trajectory analysis are used to estimate energies at which the reflection points for particles injected from low altitudes may be located above the injection point.
