Stochastic modes of maser emission
Abstract
Aperiodic stochastic solutions to the dynamic equations of a nuclear Zeeman maser operating on nonuniformly broadened lines are examined. A mathematical model of the interactions of matter with the resonator field is used which corresponds to the condition that the relaxation line width be significantly less than the width of the resonator frequency characteristic. Numerical solution of the Bloch and resonator equations for the system is used to derive the geometrical and statistical properties of the emission. Solutions for the limiting case of metastable behavior are also examined in terms of the Lorentz attractor.
