Identification of gas-liquid flow patterns
Abstract
It is proposed to use analogs of the Froude criterion, Fr-c1 and Fr-c2 for classifying the structural types of gas-liquid flows in pipes. Experimental results are presented for air-water mixtures, indicating that the Fr-c2 criterion adequately describes the hydrodynamics of gas-liquid flows in particular disperse and plug flows, while Fr-c1 gives good results only in the case of stratified flow.
