Inter-subband optical absorption in an inversion layer on a semiconductor surface in tilted magnetic fields
Abstract
Investigations into magneto-optical phenomena in silicon metal oxide semiconductor devices are reported. Conditions necessary for achieving a null Faraday rotation effect and a null ellipticity are examined. The calculation of theta for the Appel-Overhauser model for the surface space charge layer in silicon is presented. Speculations into the resolution of discrepancies between theory and experiment in investigations of tilted magnetic fields are described.
