Modeling the moving boundary problem for TES with PCMs
Abstract
A simple numerical procedure for calculating the flow of heat in a one dimensional phase change material developed by Budak has been tested against an analytical solution to determine the best choice of parameters for a range of Stefan numbers. Simple rules are provided by which an inexperienced user of the method can obtain reasonably reliable results for a simply melting substance.
