Spectrum resource assessment in the 1215-1400 MHz band
Abstract
A spectrum resource assessment in the 1215 to 1400 MHz band was conducted. Information on allocation, technical standards, frequency assignments, equipment characteristics and compatibility analyses which treat the EMC interaction between four firmly planned systems and a typical aeronautical radionavigation radar (ARSR-1E) is presented. Frequency distance separation guidelines for sharing between these systems were provided. Measured data obtained by the radio spectrum measurement system (RSMS) at nine different sites in the United States are presented and the data used to characterize the band usage.
