Non-ideal current-voltage characteristics
Abstract
Characteristics corrected for a resistive network which deviate from the ideal diode behavior, provide information about the space charge distribution within the junction region. From cells with substantial junction recombination the majority carrier trap distribution can be obtained from slope and bias of the characteristic near the maximum power point. A kinetic method is developed to analyze carrier redistribution within the junction. Such information may be used to improve cell performance by increased fill-factor and stability.
