Multiphase-mixture theory for fluid-saturated granular materials
Abstract
The application of a recently developed theory of multiphase mixtures to fluid saturated granular materials is discussed. The theory includes the incompressibility of each phase, but removes the constraint of pressure equilibrium between phases. The relationship between the present theory and previously developed models of flow through porous media is also discussed.
