High velocity measurements: Special requirements
Abstract
The problems which can arise obtaining good results in high velocity flows using laser doppler velocimeters are discussed. Some recommendations are given for handling some difficult situations. Finally three ways other than fringe laser velocimetry to perform velocity measurements are discussed: two focus velocimetry, a fluorescence technique, and the study of doppler shifted light by a Michelson spectrometer.
