A boundary value technique for three dimensional compressible boundary layers
Abstract
A boundary value technique is used in the solution of equations for the compressible laminar boundary layer at the stagnation point of a three-dimensional body having unequal principal curvatures. The method can furnish fast, accurate solutions by comparison with methods often used to solve problems with semi-infinite or infinite (boundary) domain. The method is found to be especially useful in problems for which solutions of engineering accuracy are sufficient and the problem has to be solved over a wide range of parameters, as in design optimization.
