Alternative heat pump cycle studies
Abstract
Alternative heat pump cycles for space conditioning applications that offer improved performance or the option to use a non-chlorofluorocarbon working fluid are considered. Various air-cycle systems, the Stirling cycle, and an ejector cycle were examined. The concept is discussed. Results of preliminary studies on the air cycles and the Stirling heat pump are discussed briefly. Ejector heat pump studies are at a very preliminary stage and no conclusions have been made.
