Radiation pattern synthesis: Two new methods. I - The currents pair method
Abstract
A method for determining the currents set of a bidimensional antenna array is presented, noting that the method can be used to calculate excitations for any bidimensional array having a center of symmetry (circular, elliptical, rectangular, hexagonal). It is shown that the method proposed can be applied to stationary phase radiation patterns. It is equivalent to solving an algebraic equation system with 2N+1 unknowns having real coefficients. The method proposed is an approximate one, and it is shown that only N/2 terms of the Fourier series of the imposed radiation pattern are taken into consideration.
