Sensitivity of the current-voltage characteristic to diode parameters
Abstract
The physical description of the electrodes and of the plasma is transferred to one point of the diode volt-ampere characteristic represented by one value of the current density J at given output voltage V. The origin of losses of the diode electric current at higher voltages and the impact on the diode performance of modifications on electrode surface, geometry, and physics of the outer electrode region are analyzed. The choice of the mathematical representation and technique is dictated by the present treatment being a subensemble of a two dimensional mathematical model.
