Time division multiple access system with demand assignment for intra company network using the satellite Telecom 1
Abstract
The full demand-assigned TDMA system to be implemented in the French National satellite communication network Telecom 1 is described in its main technical aspects, including modulation, frame structure and management, and synchronization. The different types of available satellite links are presented, and the TDMA terminal structure is described. This system not only provides a very wide range of already existing services and bit rates with comparatively easier and cheaper operation, but also offers to its subscribers new kinds of services, such as multipoint video conferencing.
