Abstract
Examples of various boundary problems are given and difference schemes and finite element methods for solving such problems are described. Topics covered include: (1) linear twogrid method; (2) linear multigrid method; (3) smoothing techniques; (4) numerical results; (5) nested iteration; (6) further modifications; (7) nonlinear multigrid literation; (8) nonlinear example: Convection in an enclosed cavity; (9) Stokes' problem and steady NavierStokes equations; (10) elliptic eigenvalue problems; and (11) multigrid method of the second king.
