Fluiddynamical study of a heat pipe provided with a liquid pumping system
Abstract
In order to study the thermo- and fluid-dynamical characters of the flow inside the heat pipe, a special heat pipe provided with an exchangeable nozzle throat in the adiabatic section and also with a system of pumping the condensed liquid from the condenser to the evaporator was constructed and tested using sophisticated instrumentation attached throughout the heat pipe body and inside of it. The governing thermo- and fluid-dynamical processes taking place in the heat pipe were fully correlated with the relevant theories, and a complete mathematical description of the heat pipe characters was obtained.
