Concerning the stable levitation of a rotating annular rotor
Abstract
The paper describes an inductive energy storage system based on a self-excited homopolar generator; the system includes a magnetically levitated annular rotor in the traveling stator field. Experimental results are presented on a model system with an energy capacity of 5 kJ; and predictions are made concerning the basic parameters of a system with energy of 10 to the 7th to 10 to the 9th J.
