Computation of mass flow rates and pressure losses in branched pipeline networks
Abstract
A computer program calculating the mass flow rates and the pressure losses in the branches of a branched pipeline network is discussed. The program assumes a quadratic relation between the mass flow rate and the pressure loss in a branch. A set of equations containing the unknown mass flow rates is solved with the aid of the Newton-Raphson iteration method. The program was tested on two cooling system networks.
