The multiple input single output channel constituted by a multilevel pulse amplitude modulation (PAM) transmission system
Abstract
A network with two inlets and one outlet is considered. Two arbitrary sources are connected to binary codifiers which provide synchronous binary messages to the multiple access chanel, which includes a four levels modulator and a transmission multiplexer. Several assumptions for the quaternary and binary decoding and for the cooperation between the two binary codifiers are studied. Transmission rates and transition probabilities are examined resulting in a clear definition of the asymptotic limits of the studied configurations.
