The properties of solar and heat pump heating systems of small houses and additional heat sources
Abstract
The active use of solar energy in heating of small houses was studied with a computer program developed for this purpose. The calculations clear up the thermal properties of seven solar and heat pump systems with different operational principles. The following topics are studied: (1) how much energy is obtained from different heat sources (basic heat source, solar radiation, earth and wood); and (2) the influence of collector size, structure, and storage on the energy obtained from the collector in each system. The influence of the size and depth of the heat pump Earth pipes on compressor electricity consumption, Earth temperatures and freezing are also studied.
