Use of the statistical tests method to investigate wave-beam propagation in a randomly inhomogeneous medium
Abstract
Estimates of the statistical characteristics of wave beams have been obtained by averaging with respect to radiation propagation in a randomly inhomogeneous medium. For a single implementation, a numerical computation was obtained for the problem of a beam passing an equidistant sequence of phase screens with specified spectrum of field fluctuations on the screen. Estimation errors were examined using the effective beam width as an example. The behavior of statistical characteristics obtained from the numerical experiment is in agreement with behavior reported in the available literature.
