The description of turbulence in Burgers' model
Abstract
The paper examines the generation of turbulence, described by Burgers' model, by a random applied force at large acoustic Reynolds numbers. It is shown that the characteristics of random shock waves in the steady state can be described through the characteristics of simple waves, taking into account the selection of classical trajectories with minimum action. A description of sawtooth waves in the steady state is given; the average energy of motion, the one-point velocity distribution function, and other characteristics of the ensemble are calculated.
