Some questions relating to the control of flows near a wall
Abstract
A review is presented of cavitation flows in heavy liquids, characteristics of transition of laminar to turbulent flows, and laminarization of wall-boundary flows on permeable surfaces. The interaction of gas bubbles and polymer additions on the structure of wall-boundary turbulence is examined, noting that glycoprotein and polysaccharide polymer chains can generate or attenuate turbulence in industrial applications.
